MaltaPost to Participate in Maltex 2014

MaltaPost p.l.c. will be participating in the 15th Maltex Philatelic Exhibition 2014 which is being organised by the Malta Philatelic Society and supported by MaltaPost.

For this special event the Philatelic Bureau will be issuing an Occasion Card, a Postal Card, and Personalised Stamp/Cover. The Occasion Card shows a flower found in the Maltese countryside ‘The Field Gladiolus' (Ħabb il-Qamħ tar-Raba') from the set ‘Maltese Flora' issued in June 2014. The Postal Card depicts the bagpipe and drum musicians performing at Valletta's Porta Reale from the set the set ‘EUROPA 2014 ‘National Music Instruments". The Personalised Cover features the Maltex Logo.

Both cards will be available in mint and cancelled condition as from Friday 17 October from the MaltaPost stand at the Maltex Exhibition, all Post Offices, and from the Philatelic Bureau. A temporary letter box service will also be provided during the opening hours of the Exhibition. The cards and mail posted will be cancelled with the Maltex special handstamp inscribed Maltex 2014 17-19 October Hotel Phoenicia - Floriana - Malta. The special hand stamp will carry the Logo of the Exhibition.

The Maltex 2014 Philatelic Exhibition will be held at the Phoenicia Hotel Floriana and will be open to the general public on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 October between 09.00 and 18.00 and on Sunday 19 October between 09.00 and 12.00. The artist Cedric Galea Pirotta who designed the artworks for various stamp issues will be in attendance on Saturday 18th October between 15:30hrs - 18:00hrs.
