Archbishop Paul Cremona was delighted to meet and chat with his postman when the Archbishop visited the Maltapost Head Office at Marsa yesterday morning. The meeting, which came as a surprise to Archbishop Cremona, was set up by Maltapost Chief Executive Joseph Gafa’. Monsignor Cremona also had the opportunity to meet with his former postman who had delivered his mail when "Patri Pawl" was parish priest at Jesus of Nazareth parish in Sliema.

Archbishop Cremona was welcomed at the Maltapost Head Office by Minister for Investment, Industry and IT, Austin Gatt, Maltapost Chairman David Stellini and the Board of Directors, and CEO Joseph Gafa'. After meeting briefly with Directors and senior management, the Archbishop went down to the Central Mail Room, where the Maltapost staff on duty quickly surrounded His Excellency for yet another of his traditional down-to-earth meetings. Archbishop Cremona expressed his delight at being on the shop-floor among the staff, and happily replied to several questions in his usual style.
During his visit, Archbishop Cremona also had the opportunity to view some of the exceptional philatelic artworks executed by a former relative, the doyen of stamp designers the late Chevalier Emvin Cremona.  Chairman David Stellini then presented the Archbishop with a frame enclosing philatelic Cards issued on the occasion of the Archbishop's and Gozo Bishop's inauguration.  A copy of the Malta Stamp Collection, issued by Maltapost soon after Malta's EU accession, was presented to Monsignor Cremona by CEO Joseph Gafa'.
