A Registered Mail Item is any postal item requiring proof of delivery. The item will be delivered to the addressee and a signature is requested as proof that the item has been successfully delivered.
Two options are available:
Option 1 - Advice of Delivery (local & foreign)
One can send a registered item including an additional service - 'Advice of Delivery'. This Advice of Delivery (pink/orange card) would be signed by recipient at time of delivery and returned back to sender to confirm that the item has been delivered and signed for.
Option 2 - Proof of Delivery (local only)
One can send a registered item and request a copy of the signature of recipient at time of delivery at a fee of €1.16.
In both cases the recipient is requested to sign for the registered item.
This service is available locally, throughout Malta and Gozo.
It is easy to send a registered item. Simply call at any MaltaPost branch and ask for the Registered Mail service. A label containing barcodes is affixed to the item being registered and a copy of the same barcode is given back as proof of purchase.
If you want to enquire about your registered item you can now track directly (local only) from our website homepage or simply call MaltaPost Customer Care on telephone 21224421, or email on customercare@maltapost.com and give the operator the number under the barcode. Any enquiry concerning a Registered Postal Article sent both locally or to a foreign address, needs to be submitted within six months from date of posting.
