Electrician

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Electrician for duties within the Company's Support Services Department. Reporting to the Technical Services Officer, within the Support Services Department, the successful candidate will be required to carry out electrical works on new installations and perform maintenance on existing installations found within the Company's commercial and industrial facilities.

The main duties of this role include but are not limited to :

1.      Basic fault finding and solving, as well as working on faults in order of priority.

2.      Changing of fittings, electrical isolation, switchgears and all other related works involving  electrical installations.

3.      Planning new installations and implementing such installations and final testing to ensure that these function as directed by the Technical Services Officer.

4.      Monitor Power Room, Generator, Solar Panels as well as any other Company equipment. Keep appropiate  records for future reference.

5.      Working on Vehicle Electrical charging Points.

6.      Have good knowledge of both Plastic & Metal Electrical installations including trunking, piping, and use of cable trays as required according to the installation.

7.      Any other duty required.

Applicants must  as a minimum:

  • hold an Electrical Installation Licence 'Authorisation A & B';
  • be able to read and interpret technical drawings;
  • have sound knowledge of the current electrical standards;
  • have a clean disciplinary record;
  • be in possession of a clean car driving license and a clean police conduct certificate.

 

The appointment is subject to a 12-month probationary period. Working hours are presently Monday to Saturday from 07:00 hrs to 14:15hrs with a 30 minute break allowed.
