Treasures of Malta

The Philatelic Bureau of MaltaPost p.l.c. continues its series of 'Treasures of Malta' with the issue of a philatelic commemorative set of three stamps on the 9th of March 2011.

The philatelic stamps will feature some of Malta's cultural and unique landscapes which are Valletta, Manoel Island and Cittadella. An amount of 1,200,000 stamps will carry a face value of €0.19, 500,000 stamps will carry a face value of €0.37, whilst 50,000 stamps will carry a face value of €1.57. The stamps are designed by local artist Edward Said. The size of the stamps is 44.0mm x 31.0mm with a perforation of 13.9 x 14.0(comb). All stamps have been offset printed on Maltese Crosses watermarked paper by Printex Limited and are available in sheets of 10.

The €0.37 stamp depicting the Manoel Island will form part of the third in series of the joint stamp issue titled "Beautiful Corners of Europe 3" in the SEPAC Collection (Small European Postal Administrations Cooperation). The SEPAC collection will include a special folder containing the 12 SEPAC stamps issued this year from each member postal administration. The SEPAC issues are aimed to highlight member countries and promote philately. SEPAC members are the postal administrations of Aland Islands, Faroe Islands,

Greenland, Guernsey, Iceland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, and Gibraltar.

The philatelic commemorative set Treasures of Malta - "Landscapes" will be available as from Wednesday 9th March from all MaltaPost branches in Malta and Gozo, from the Mobile PostOffice and from the Philatelic Bureau.
