MaltaPost continues its series of ‘Malta Buses – The End of an Era’

On 27 August 2013, MaltaPost will issue a set of six stamps featuring some of the Island's most iconic buses which are no longer in operation. This set includes the first buses to have operated in Malta and Gozo as well as those that were used by the British Services and the British European Airways (BEA) and British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). The stamps are reproductions of original artworks by local artist Cedric Galea Pirotta. The stamps have face value of €0.06, €0.10, €0.37, €0.52, €1.16 and €2.25 and depict the Airport Bus, Valletta -St Julians Route, Victoria Hire Service, Royal Armed Forces Bus, Malta Police Bus and Magirus -Deutz O3500 respectively.

The set "Malta Buses - "The End of an Era - Series II" will be issued in sheets of 10 stamps. Each stamp measures 44mm x 31mm with perforation of 13.9 x 14.0 (comb.) bearing the Maltese Crosses watermark. Printex Ltd will print 500,000 of the €0.06 stamp, 100,000 of the €0.10 stamp, 300,000 of the €0.37, and 30,000 of each of the €0.52, €1.16c and €2.25 stamps.
