On the 23rd of October 2018, MaltaPost will issue a set of 16 stamps featuring different dog breeds. This special collection of stamps pays a tribute to the man's best friend and celebrates the Year of the dog in the Chinese Zodiac.
The stamps are reproductions of paintings by the well-known artist Andrew Micallef and each stamp carries a face value of 59c. The set will be issued in sheets of 16 stamps with each stamp measuring 35.0mm x 35.0mm and perforation of 13.75 x 13.75 (comb) bearing the Maltese Cross Watermark. The sheet measures 169mm x 169mm. The stamps were produced by Printex Ltd by the offset process and the issue consists of 30,000 sheets.
The set will be available for sale as from Tuesday 23rd October 2018 at the ‘Maltex Philatelic Exhibition and Collectors' Fair at the Casino Maltese in Valletta and all Post Offices in Malta and Gozo.
